I was asked by a reporter what I thought of the new IMPACT document and at the time I had not seen any of the 20 odd books to comment.
When I did read the document directly IMPACTing me I was, quite frankly, overwhelmed. My first thoughts were all related to how I was going to document all of this. I walked away from it for a few days. I finally decided that it is what it is and until it isn’t I need to work with my colleagues to create and implement strategies and action plans on meeting the criteria spread among a myriad of indicators.
In future posts I will share with you what my colleagues and I have come up with to indicate that we have met the level 4 on the rubric under each indicator for teaching and how each indicator directly relates to the Teaching and Learning Framework.
It is my hope that each of you shares your expertise in this area with the purpose of creating a resource for all of our colleagues so that IMPACT will do what a good evaluation tool should do and help us improve teaching and learning.
